I Am

I am my ancestor DNA,
body memory of
brown earth dirt
and fresh mown hay,
trees that reach down to greet me,
ground that lays out a carpet to support me,
breeze that caresses my face,
sun that warms my skin.
I am migrating memory
moving to safety,
searching for home,
courage in persecution,
longing for familiarity.
I am explorer,
I am the earth and the universe,
the atoms and cellular memory
of primordial love.
I am the smallest element to the largest,
the vastness of the universe,
I am a drop in the ocean,
and I am the ocean.
