Blue Velvet

Blue sky and water ribbons, ripples, splashing,
that deliciously velvety
melodious sound we all recognize
when we hear it,
deep throaty pouring out.
Cool breeze, crisp on skin,
bitter river smell,
soaring gulls, white, overhead,
expansive sky.
